Colourful Coral and Collage Fish

Today was the first time that Deanne's Guardian Group had a lesson in the artroom. It was an exciting day for everyone.

The students started the day by exploring different types of marks, textures and repeating patterns. Next they used these skills to draw colourful underwater coral scenes with crayon which was then dyed. Over top of that the students pasted on fish that were cut out of coloured paper. The students were challenged to use scissors to cut out their shapes for their fish without using a pencil, just like Henri Matisse did. The did a fabulous job of meeting the challenge.
